School assignment : the fashionshow

Well the last 3 month we began with an assignment to organize a Fashion show. Our class is divided in groups and every group has to choose a designer that inspires them and work towards the subject “futuristic” So our group of four people chose Alexandre Vauthier, because of the many gold’s and sparkly outfits we thought it gives that futuristic glow to it. During the process of asking friends for being models, searching for the right makeup-style/hair style and also preparing a lot of paperwork for a presentation, my friend and I did a lot of work alone without the help of the other two. So our teacher mentioned it and split us up, so we are doing the assignment now with just the two of us.

So I came with an idea to update you all on this process towards the fashion show, I wanted to tell you more about Alexandre Vauthier, who he is, what he does and letting you see his designs.

Alexandre Vauthier is a French fashion designer, he was born on 30 November 1971. He is considered as the best couture designers of the younger generations and also celebrities like Rihanna, Beyoncé, Heidi Klum, Kylie Minogue and Rita Ora adores his designs.



He joined the design studio of Thierry Mugler (also a French fashion designer) Thierry Mugler taught him a lot. Later he joined Jean-Paul Gaultier (who doesn’t know him? :P), Vauthier was the head-designer of the couture collection for 8 years long. He gets a lot of experience, because of the professional collaborations with Japan and several in The USA,  so he desires to express himself through a own collection. So he did, he launched his own brand in 2009. He expresses himself with a style that is inspired by his French Culture and also got his Anglo-Saxon influences. (Anglo-Saxon were people who inhabited Great-Britain front the 5^th century, they had a lot of decorated jewellery, like beads, wrist-clasps, brooches and buckles of outstanding qualities)

Vauthier was supported quickly by the media, international celebrities and couture clients. Now he extends his creative universe with different artistic collaborations, costumes, ready-to-wear, interior-design, perfume and music.
